Explore My Shelves

I saw this weekly meme on Doodles and Scraps’ blog, and i thought it would be super fun to do. So expect this every Saturday.

Every week, Doodles and Scraps’ creates a  theme for which you will look for books on your bookshelves that match that theme. This weeks theme is “A surprising book (plot twist, surprisingly good or bad, whatever!)”.

•Note- this pic is from last week, and I have gotten like 10 more books and counting since then.

I recently reorganized my shelves, and I’m rather proud🤗

Back to the theme (A surprising book), and know hands down what I will choose. Searching For Sky by Jillian Cantor. It was such a sad and beautiful book. I cried so hard, but I loved it to pieces. When I first started reading it, it was mainly because I just wanted to bump a short book off my TBR. But it surprised me in the best way possible. Here’s a blurb of the book:

Sky and River have always lived on Island, the only world they’ve ever known. Until the day River spots a boat. Across Ocean, in a place called California, Sky is separated from River and forced to live with a grandmother she’s just met. Here the rules for survival are different. People rely on strange things like cars and cell phones. They keep secrets from one another. And without River, nothing makes sense. Sky yearns for her old life where she was strong and capable, not lost and confused. She must find River so they can return to Island, but the truth behind how they ended up there in the first place will come as the biggest shock of all.
